Tennessee Local Food Summit December 4-6, 2015

Middle Tennessee farmland once fed Nashville, and it will again. As a peak year-end event fostering this change, the Tennessee Local Food Summit is December 4-6, 2015 and will be held at Tennessee State University.  Register at tnlocalfood.com.

Sponsored by Barefoot Farmer, LLC and TSU, it will feature Nashville’s best chefs offering delicious, locally grown organic meals during a full day of educational workshops, networking, and the celebration of another great growing season.

The kickoff for the 5th annual conference will begin on Friday, December 4, 2015 with in-depth workshops and a chef-prepared, locally grown delicious meal.

A full day of workshops will be offered on Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 8am to 5pm. Preliminary plans include:

❧ Business models and economic
opportunities
❧ Online Marketing
❧ Famous local chefs offering classes and demonstrations.
❧ Effects of agriculture on the environment

Sunday, December 6th, there will be a tour of the local farm and retail shop, Green Door Gourmet.

Learn how to grow your own food, where local food is available, how to use it, and why it is healthier.

Explore how local food can provide jobs while improving the care of our Tennessee lands and waters.
