Alfred Bartles Tribute Concert December 6, 2015

There will be a tribute concert honoring the life of composer Alfred Bartles on December 6, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at the Steve and Judy Turner Recital Hall, Blair School of Music, 2400 Blakemore, Av., Nashville, TN 37212. Bartles was a lifelong Anthroposophist as well as a composer, arranger, cellist and jazz pianist. 

Blair faculty, students and guest artists will perform Bartles’ work in celebration of the unveiling of the Wilson Music Library’s collection of his papers and manuscripts on what would have been his 85th birthday. A reception in Turner Lobby will follow the concert.

Performers include Karolina Syrovatkova, Gail Langstroth, Liz Johnson, David Rogers, Winston Morris, Gil Long, Tennessee Tech Tuba Octet, Vanderbilt Tuba Quartet, Blair Big Band and Vanderbilt University Choir members.There is free parking in the West Garage directly across from the concert hall. The concert is free and open to the public.
