Michaelmas Festival Sept 28th 4-8:00 Features a workshop with Jeff Poppen

This event will be held at Six Boots, a local farm and growers collective and CSA , located at 4506 Old Hickory Blvd Nashville 37218 in Bells Bend.

Everyone is warmly invited to a celebration of Michaelmas centered around the relationship of nature, the animal kingdom and the human kingdom.

4:00-6:00 Jeff Poppen, THE BAREFOOT FARMER, and founding member of the Anthroposophic Branch of Middle Tennessee will inform of the importance, and demonstrate the preparation of the horn manure. We will include the Michaelmas readings while we are preparing the ground and filling the horns.

7-8.  Pot luck supper.

This will be a hands on experience rain or shine. Please come prepared in casual clothes and boots/shoes and your own chair for the farm. Snacks will be provided at the beginning of the event.

This year’s theme is
The Four Kingdoms:
Animal, Vegetable, Mineral, and Human.

Weekend workshops will explore examples of the kingdoms as they are expressed on a farm, as well as how we, as growers, can help create a four part harmony.

It is a special delight to be hosting our long time compatriots Hugh Lovel and Shabari Bird to celebrate the 30th year of gathering biodynamic and organic growers and enthusiasts throughout the Southeast.

Anthroposophy study groups 2016 schedule

If you have been thinking about joining an anthroposophy study group, it is a great time to begin.

The Nashville Rudolf Steiner Group will meet the first, third, and fifth Tuesdays of the month evenings at 7 pm at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville, 1808 Woodmont Blvd., Nashville, Tennessee 37215.  This group is continuing Esoteric Christianity and the Mission of Christian Rosenkreutz. For more information, contact Cathy Green at cgreen@grasslandaquatics.com.

The Michael Study Group of Nashville will meet first and third Tuesdays at 3:30 pm at Linden Waldorf School, 3201 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville, Tennessee 37215.
